What is a(n) OBF file?
The .GIS file with the .OBF extension is characteristic for the Android application GPS - OsmAnd. The file stores data in a binary format about the map and its elements, including not only routes, but also all kinds of important places, such as interesting objects, buildings, paths and roads as well as natural objects, enabling the application to operate without access to the Internet.
How to open OBF file?
There could be multiple reasons for which the system does not support given file. In the case of OBF extension, it is probable that none of the installed programs support given file type. Therefore, user should undertake the following steps
Step 1: Install a program that supports OBF files
If an application that supports OBF files is installed on user’s system, but is not used to open such files by default, right-click on the file icon and choose "Open with" option from the menu.
