What is a(n) WBFS file?
WBFS (Wii Backup Format System Format) is a proprietary file system developed by Nintendo specifically for the storage of Wii games. It is designed to optimize disc space when storing multiple Wii game images on a single hard drive or other media.
WBFS files are most commonly stored in partitions on hard drives formatted with the WBFS file system and can be read with official Wii software as well as third-party programs such as USB Loader GX. WBFS files are also sometimes found packed inside a WST file, though this is less common.
How to open WBFS file?
There could be multiple reasons for which the system does not support given file. In the case of WBFS extension, it is probable that none of the installed programs support given file type. Therefore, user should undertake the following steps
Step 1: Install a program that supports WBFS files
If an application that supports WBFS files is installed on user’s system, but is not used to open such files by default, right-click on the file icon and choose "Open with" option from the menu. Next, select the proper application and check the "Always use the selected application to open this kind of files" box. The system will store this information in its registry and use the selected program to open files with WBFS extension by default.
