What is a(n) PKT file?
PKT (Packet Tracer Network Simulation Model) is a file type used for interactive networking simulations. It is designed to help people learn the features, protocols, and operations of the Cisco Networking Academy’s programs. PKT files allow users to configure simulated networks, simulate network traffic, design complex network topologies and visualise data flow.
PKT files are stored in a proprietary ML format. Each network configuration is saved as a separate .pkt file which can then be manipulated and shared with others. PKT files allow for the combination of various physical and logical networking devices (such as routers, switches, computers and more).
How to open PKT file?
If given user account does not have necessary permissions to open files with PKT extension, it is highly probable that no program that supports given files is installed on the users’ system. Below is a list of actions user should pursue in order to resolve most common problems.
