What is a(n) NRW file?
The NRW (Nikon Raw Image Format) file format is an exclusive image format developed by Nikon for its digital cameras. It is designed to store digital photos taken in Nikon's proprietary RAW mode, which captures an unprocessed raw image closely resembling the scene recorded by the camera's sensor. All settings such as focus mode and white balance are stored in the NRW file along with the raw image data.
Utilizing Nikon's own software, NRW files can be opened and edited using various post-processing techniques and converted into other image file formats such as TIFF or JPEG as needed.
