What is a(n) MAX file?

The MAX format is used by the 3ds Max program (formerly 3D Studio MAX), which allows you to create professional graphics for movies and games. MAX files provide the elements needed for 3D animation modeling, incl. shading, textures, wireframes and lighting effects. It is possible to convert them to other formats, eg DXF, FBX.

How to open MAX file?

If given user account does not have necessary permissions to open files with MAX extension, it is highly probable that no program that supports given files is installed on the users’ system. Below is a list of actions user should pursue in order to resolve most common problems.
