What is a(n) IPT file?
IPT (Inventor Part Format) is a proprietary 3D CAD file format used for storing 3D models created using Autodesk Inventor software. Files in this format contain components and assemblies of objects, which are represented by surfaces, edges and other graphics primitives. They also store information regarding animation or other behavior of the model.
The IPT format is native to Autodesk Inventor but can be converted to other more common CAD formats, such as OBJ, STP or DWG. IPT files can be opened with Autodesk Inventor Viewer.
