FB2 (FictionBook 2.0 File) is a free and open e-book standard for exchanging books and other documents over the Internet. It was created by FictionBook project and standardized by an international consortium of publishers. FB2 files are stored in the XML format which makes them compatible with many different types of operating systems, hardware devices, and software applications.
FB2 files usually contain an electronic version of a book and can be opened with software applications like Adobe Digital Editions, Corel WordPerfect Office X8, Icecream Ebook Reader, and Mobipocket Reader.
