What is a(n) DFT file?
DFT files (Solid Edge Draft Document) are text documents created in Solid Edge software. DFT files contain 2D drawing objects, such as lines, shapes, text and symbols as well as drawing annotations, dimensions and views. DFT files can also include 3D models with more advanced features, such as sketched shapes, revolved objects and embossed text.
DFT files are commonly used for CAD drawings in the mechanical engineering industry, although they can also be used for other purposes. They are easily shared via email, since they take up very little storage space. The DFT file format is compatible with other CAD software programs, including AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
How to open DFT file?
